The program was started to recognize nurses who provided outstanding care during the COVID-19 pandemic. The program has grown since then, but its core mission remains unchanged: spotlighting nurses who go above and beyond the call of duty to serve their patients, colleagues, and communities.

It’s important to recognize nurses because it takes a special person to be a nurse, no matter what specialty they are in. Each day we go to work and care for others, some for long hours, and then wake up to do it again. We empty our tanks and ask for nothing in return, to wake up and do it again the next day. We love it and wouldn’t trade it for the world!
