Suvas Vajracharya is the founder of Lightning Bolt, which is now a PerfectServe company. Vajracharya leads a team that solves the most complex medical staff scheduling problems with advanced, AI-optimized technology. Vajracharya focuses on heavy research and development to deepen Lightning Bolt’s domain expertise in the areas of physician workflow, hospital operations, artificial intelligence and professional balance. Lightning Bolt was acquired by PerfectServe as part of its ongoing efforts to define and lead the clinical communication and collaboration (CC&C) market.
While working as a staff scientist at Los Alamos National Laboratory in 1998, Vajracharya was tapped by a physician friend to solve a frustrating problem: creating call schedules for his group. Leveraging his technology experience scheduling supercomputers, Vajracharya built the foundation for an elegant, easy-to-use solution that mastered the complexities of medical staff scheduling. Soon after, Vajracharya founded Lightning Bolt and served as CEO for nearly 17 years. His cloud-based scheduling system now produces optimized schedules for leading healthcare organizations around the world.
Prior to founding Lightning Bolt, Vajracharya also worked for software companies Numerix and Inktomi, where he was a Senior Software Architect and Engineering Manager, respectively.
Vajracharya holds a BS in Computer Sciences from the University of Wisconsin and a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Colorado.
