Michael O’Neil serves as a Strategic Advisor and Board Member for PerfectServe. In this leadership role, O’Neil utilizes his extensive knowledge of the healthcare technology industry to help guide the company’s strategic direction and deepen its understanding of market trends and best practices.
O’Neil is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of GetWellNetwork, a global health tech company aimed at educating, engaging and empowering patients and families to take control of their healthcare journeys. He launched the company following his fight against non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, an experience that inspired him to steer the final year of his JD/MBA program from business plan to life mission. GetWellNetwork created a new market segment called Interactive Patient Care™, and the company has given millions of patients around the world a voice in their own care.
In 2014, O’Neil founded the O’Neil Center, a think tank and research institute advancing the science of patient and family engagement. He also established GetWell Labs, an R&D incubator, to accelerate the development of disruptive patient engagement technologies.
O’Neil is a recognized leader in the healthcare, technology and entrepreneurial communities. In 2019, he was named a Health Innovators Fellow by the Aspen Institute. He is The Global Good Fund’s 2019 Social Entrepreneur of the Year and recipient of the 2019 Social Impact award from the Georgetown Entrepreneurial Alliance. His past honors include the E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year award and NVTC Tech Executive of the Year.
O’Neil is actively involved with several leadership organizations, including Mindshare and the Young Presidents Organization. Previously, he served on the board of directors for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and for The DAISY Foundation.
O’Neil holds a BA from the University of Notre Dame and a JD and MBA from Georgetown University.
