Syncing your PerfectServe email account with RIM’s BlackBerry™ 8300 Series

Like all cell phones, the RIM BlackBerry™ 8300 series can receive calls and text messages from PerfectServe and you can dial in to access messages and contact colleagues. In addition, the BlackBerry can be used to view PerfectServe voice and email messages. This article explains how to sync your BlackBerry with your PerfectServe email account/inbox using the POP/IMAP functionality.

  1. From your BlackBerry home screen, select the email setup icon. (This may be called “BlackBerry Set-up”, “E-mail settings”, or “Personal Email Set-up”)
  2. Select “Add my existing email account.”
  3. On the email account setup page, enter your PerfectServe email address. (Example: “firstname.lastname@perfectserve.net”) Leave the password field blank. Select “next.”
  4. You'll see a screen that says 'We are unable to set up your email account.' Select 'I will provide the settings to add this email account,' then select “next”. Leave the password field blank
  5. You’ll see a message that reads “to configure this email account complete the fields below.”
    1. Enter your PerfectServe username in the username field. (Example: “firstname.lastname”)
    2. Enter your PerfectServe password. If you need your password, call our 24/7 Help Center at 877-844-7727.
    3. In the mail server field, enter “outlook.perfectserve.net” and then click “next.”
  6. You’ll see a message that reads “Processing – please wait… You have successfully added…”

If your email set-up was successfully, there should be a new-messages icon on your home screen labeled with the name of your account. Once you see this icon, follow these steps to ensure proper configuration:

  1. Open the mailbox icon.
  2. You should have a confirmation email waiting for you in the inbox.
  3. Open the menu by pressing BlackBerry menu button, then select Options.
  4. Select Email Reconciliations.
  5. Confirm the following settings:
    1. Delete On: Mailbox & Handheld
    2. Wireless Reconcile: On
    3. On Conflicts: Mailbox Wins
  6. Select Save.
