Handle Different Types of Calls in Different Ways

PerfectServe lets you decide when, where and how you want to receive different types of calls and messages.

Here are a few examples of different ways you may choose to route different types of calls:

  • New Admissions and Healthy Newborns: Send these calls directly to voice message, so you’re not interrupted at night, or during the day when you are seeing patients. Then check your inbox and take these messages when it’s convenient for you.
  • Colleagues, Consults, and Calls from the ICU: Route these directly to your cell phone so you can take them in real time. This lets you speak with colleagues directly, reducing phone tag.
  • Patients: Route these to voice mail, and then you can be notified via text message that you have a voice mail. This gives you the chance to log into the patient’s EMR beforehand, ensuring that you have the most updated information when you talk to your patient.

These are just a few ways you can route incoming calls differently, based on type, saving you time and making your clinical communications more efficient.

Also, you may wish to route different types of calls to various members of your care team.

For example, calls from patients can go to the nurse practitioner on-call, while calls from the hospital ER can be routed in real time to the physician on-call.
