John LaMacchia


From September 2001 to December 2004, John LaMacchia served as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Tellme Networks Inc., a provider of voice application networks and voice search technology and services. During his tenure, John developed the business from pre-revenue to one approaching $100 million in sales. In addition, John led the successful sale of Tellme to Microsoft. Tellme now operates as a Microsoft subsidiary.

Prior to Tellme, John served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Cincinnati Bell, where, during his tenure, growth more than doubled and total shareholder returns exceeded 35 percent. While serving as CEO of Cincinnati Bell, John founded Convergys, a separate business unit that was spun-off in 1998. Now a public company with revenues approaching $2.8 billion, Convergys remains the market leader in outsourced billing and contact center services. 

John currently serves as a Director of The Kroger Company. He also serves as chairman of the Kroger Board Compensation Committee and is a member of its Corporate Governance Committee. John also serves on the board of eLynx Ltd.

A graduate of Catholic University, John holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree and a Ph.D. degree in Physics. John obtained a J.D. degree from the Indiana University School of Law.
