Advisory Board

Kester Freeman, Jr., currently serves on the board of directors at Sabal Medical.  He is also the chairman of the University of South Carolina Research Foundation board and the Premier, Inc., editorial board. Freeman was an instrumental board member in the formative years of Premier, Inc.

Formerly, Freeman worked at Richland Memorial Hospital. With the merger of Baptist Memorial and Richland Memorial, he was selected as the CEO of the Palmetto Health system. He retired from Palmetto Health in 2007.

Freeman also served as executive vice president of Fairfax Hospital, and was the administrator of the Greenville Hospital Center.

He received his master’s in healthcare administration from Duke University in 1968 and a bachelor’s degree from the College of William and Mary in 1965.
